Orientation
Sittong II, or upper Sittong, is a village located near Jogighat, district of Darjeeling. Toryok is a small hamlet in Sittong II. Toryok is home to about 600 persons and the houses are located some distance away from each other, thereby avoiding a feeling of congestion. As the entire region is a forest area, there are innumerable varieties of birds that are visible even from our property.
The valley stretches out before you and the Riyang river meanders across it. If you walk up about 300 meters from the homestay, you can see the Kanchanjungha range before you. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful haven or getaway to unwind from your daily work pressures, Toryok busty is the perfect place.
Humro Home Rashika Homestay offers the unique experience of staying in a place built purely out of local bamboo and mud. No bricks, stones, or mortar were used to build the structure, but the strong desire to showcase their ancestral region's indigenous products like the local bamboo gave birth to the hosts' dream project. There is a quaint sit-out in front, with a wooden umbrella-style covering. There are wooden benches where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea while soaking in the fresh air rolling in from the valley beyond.
The rooms, dining area, and kitchen are all made of the same kind of material - mud, and bamboo.
Both rooms have attached Western-style washrooms. There are no geysers, but you will be provided with hot water in buckets.
2 Standard Double bedded rooms, each capable of accommodating a maximum of 3 persons. There is an extra cot in each room. The rooms are made of mud and bamboo and the beds too, are made out of the same local bamboo, providing an exclusive feature that is uncommon in such homestays.
