Jhalong is located about 100 km from NJP Railway Station, with a travel time of 2.5 hours. As this is close to the Bhutan border, there are regular checks for vehicle documents, this sometimes creates problems, as many vehicles in Dooars operate without proper paperwork.
For those looking for closer railway options, Chalsa and Nagrakata stations are available. However, long-distance trains do not stop at these stations. If you are travelling from Siliguri or other parts of Dooars, you may choose to disembark at these stations, where passenger trains and DMUs have scheduled stops.
