It is well-known and surrounded by orange orchards. Cardamom and turmeric are also popularly grown here. Another household commodity which we find in Bara Mungwa is the broom.

Takling monastery is an old Buddhist monastery which was built in the year 1915-17 by a monk who came from Tibet. At present his 4th generation is taking care of the monastery.

Teesta Bazar, which is on the NH 10 route connecting Gangtok and Kalimpong with Siliguri, our property is located about 12 km and the drive is 1 hour uphill from Teesta bazaar.

Another road accessibility is from Takdah if you are driving through Darjeeling. From Takdah the road via Teenchuley continues downhill. Road condition is fairly good at present and takes about 30 to 45 minutes to reach.
