Chota Mangwa is a small village located in the Runglee Rungliot sub-division of Darjeeling District. At an altitude of 6000 ft., it offers pleasant weather all year round. Our homestay here is in the midst of nature's bounty, with a lucid view of the Kanchanjungha range on a clear day. Humro Home Glorious Homestay is very new and nestled amongst lush green trees and flowering bushes. As you walk out of the homestay, the Kanchanjungha range is spread in front of you. A standard category property, it consists of a single-story cottage with 2 rooms that can accommodate up to 7 persons in total.

There is a parking space in front. The homestay has a dining area behind the main cottage and the kitchen is attached alongside. You can sit out on the small lawn in front and enjoy a cup of tea. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance, the only disturbance being the chirping of birds. The washrooms are Western-style. There is no geyser or TV.

Location / Accessibility

Lamahatta Park and Takdah Cantt are nearby, where you can visit the famous Rungli Rungliot tea estate. Near Baramungwa you will find the quaint little Takling monastery. If you wish to explore further, you can drive to Kalimpong or to Darjeeling. Chota Mungwa offers an opportunity to luxuriate in the lap of nature. The peace and tranquillity make you forget the stress of your daily routine.

You can spend time walking into the village to interact with the locals or just stroll around. Stop for a while to watch the farmers toiling in the small farms. The presence of a variety of colorful birds provides a delightful attraction for birders. Chota Mungwa's altitude is such that the weather is pleasant all year round, without any uncomfortable extremes. In summer, the highest and lowest temperatures range between 28 degrees and 20 degrees Celsius, and the winter month of December sees temperatures ranging between 20 degrees and 11 degrees.

There are two double-bedded standard rooms with attached washrooms. One room can house up to 4 persons and the second room can accommodate 3 heads in total. Humro Home Glorious Homestay is off the main highway and you can drive right up to the property. Although the village itself is small, the houses are located at some distance from each other thereby giving you a sense of solitude with no disturbance.

About Your Host
Mrs Purnima Chetrri is a housewife who runs her homestay with her family. Very soft-spoken and gentle in nature, she makes her guests feel very comfortable. She has 3 sons, the eldest is in the army, the second son is in service and the youngest is studying. She also tends to her small farm where she grows green vegetables and cardamom.
