Lataguri is a small town in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, located just outside the Gorumara National Park. It is easily accessible by road from the railway stations of NJP and New Mal, as well as from Bagdogra airport
Our eco-resort here is run by Mr. Paban Sarkar. It is located at Neora More, about 500 meters off the main road, and has 10 rooms, able to accommodate 30 heads with ease. Mr. Sarkar is well known for his hospitality.
Humro Home Akarshan Banobanglow is a 10-room eco-resort that has a pond and a small garden in front, where children can play around. The proximity to the Gorumara National Park provides easy access to the entrance for safaris.
One of the attractions is an old Enfield Bullet motorbike made in England, which was used by the actor Manoj Bajpai in the movie "Masterda Surya Sen".
All 10 rooms have attached Western-style washrooms with geysers. There is open space in front of the resort which houses a pond and a well-maintained flowering garden.

The eco-resort serves freshly made home food. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available on prior request.
Location / Accessibility
The main attraction, of course, is the jungle safari. You can take the gypsy safari which is available in the morning and afternoon.
You must try the famous local sweet called "cham cham" and yes the world-renowned Rasagolla!
Apart from sojourns to the jungle, you basically relax and enjoy nature's bounty amidst the abundant greenery of the Dooars.
You can go for a day visit to Samsing Suntaleykhola, Kumani, Jaldhaka Hydel Project, and Bindu, the last hamlet on the Indo-Bhutan border, which has the second oldest dam in India.

New Mal Junction, located about 30 km away, is the nearest railway station. Bagdogra airport is 68 km away. The major railway station is NJP which is 53 km from here. From NJP, you drive via Gajaldoba towards Neora More. From this More, take a left turn and you will find Akarshan just 500 meters ahead. From New Mal, you drive via Chalsa to Neora More and take a right turn to the eco-resort. From Bagdogra, it is a similar route via New Mal.
Another unique option is boarding a DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) train from Siliguri Junction at 4 pm, which takes you via New Mal through the jungle area and reaches Lataguri station at 7 pm. You can enjoy the experience of traveling through 2 forests - Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary and Gorumara National Park.
