Reaching Charkhole is easy. The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), and the nearest airport is Bagdogra. Previously, the way to reach Charkhole was through Kalimpong and then by crossing the river Relli. Recently, some other much faster options have come up which can take you to Charkhole much faster. The Kalijhora-Panbu route is the shortest. Note that there is a steep climb of about 10 km from Kalijhora Dam to Panbu, which might sometimes be difficult to negotiate for new drivers. The second popular route is through Bagrakote and the new road connecting Bengal with Sikkim.
